A terrace in Hampstead
Small commercial · gallery
A planted arrival for a small gallery — stone, shade and a courtyard that works as hard as the rooms inside.
The brief
The gallery needed a front garden that could hold an opening, take a winter, and not fight the art. Quiet, not showy.
The approach
We used a single paving, a single green, and three large pots. Lighting is gallery-grade. Planting is evergreen with a brief spring.
The outcome
A courtyard that photographs well, hosts well, and is kept on a fortnightly Club visit.
